   We grade and check.

   Where a city publishes inspections, those records become our own grades and rankings, not official ones. Our guides to local favorites are checked by hand.

Sources differ by state: official inspection and license records where a state or city publishes them, Overture open map data for the rest, and places we check by hand (e.g. Wisconsin fish fries and supper clubs). Grades are ours, never official.
